We’ll not be a destructive opposition – Bawumia says after conceding

Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice President Dr Mahamdu Bawumia has assured former President John Dramani Mahama that the NPP will not be a destructive opposition.

He said this after conceding defeat and congratulating Mr Mahama for winning the presidential elections.

In an address to the nation on Sunday, December 8, Dr Bawumia said “we will not be destructive opposition even though we will subject the next government to strict scrutiny. We will regroup and come back stronger.”

Dr Bawumia also congratulated the NDC for winning the parliamentary election as well.

He said “Let me say the data indicate former president Mahama has won the presidential election decisively.

“I just called HE John Mahama to congratulate himhim.”

He said he assured Mr Mahama of full support in the transition process so that the government business would continue seamlessly.”
